Leo Jay Posted November 19, 2009 #1 Share Posted November 19, 2009 I'm signed up for a Nice/Monaco "on your own" tour tomorrow, and am now (based on my 11th hour research) considering skipping Monaco, spending the whole day in Nice and telling the tour operator that I'll make my own way back to the ship. Is it an easy trip back by public transportation?
torrent2004 Posted November 20, 2009 #2 Share Posted November 20, 2009 I'm signed up for a Nice/Monaco "on your own" tour tomorrow, and am now (based on my 11th hour research) considering skipping Monaco, spending the whole day in Nice and telling the tour operator that I'll make my own way back to the ship. Is it an easy trip back by public transportation? Assuming Cannes is your ship port of call - It is quite easy to use public transportation. We took bus #200 to Nice (1EUR - ~1hr 20mins) and train back Cannes (6EUR - 40mins). There is a lightrail between "Vieux Nice" (Old town area) to train station (Gare - SNCF) - costs 1EUR. It is ~25-30mins leisure walk from Cannes train station to back to port, passing through some nice shopping areas.
Leo Jay Posted November 27, 2009 Author #3 Share Posted November 27, 2009 Thanks for the response. Actually, our port was were in Villefranche, and it was a quick bus ride back -- 10 minutes or so. Actually, the trickiest part was finding my way back to the port once I got off at the right bus stop. :)
