Cat AD Questions

Just upgraded from aft BA to aft AD suite on deck ten.

1. Does cabin 10728 have the wrap around balcony closed off. If so, can we have it opened.:D

2. Never had a butler. What do we do with him? Or should I say, what does he do for us? Will he get us drinks while we lounge on the balcony? Will he serve us meals in our suite? Can't think of anything else he could do. C'mon all you suite people, educate us here.:p And how much do we tip him?

3. Does the bathroom have a whirlpool tub?

4. What's the difference betwwen a romance suite AD and the AE suite directly below us on decks 8 & 9?

BTW, we upgraded today as our September cruise came out with some great senior (over 55) suite rates. The AF was only $30 pp more than our BA. The AE $80pp, and the AD $130 more pp. I guess if the AE is the same as the AD, I could have saved a hundred.

The AC was on there too. I think another $50 pp but didn't look at that one as we want to be aft and the AC's are up front. Check NCL's site online if interested.

I'll try to help...

The balcony doesn't wrap. Butler's are a wonderful thing! They will bring you almost any food item you want and serve you meals in your suite in courses. They can arrange for appetizers to be served to you every day, etc. As far as serving you drinks while you're lounging on the balcony - that might be a stretch because the butlers are spread amongst many suites - but if they have free time they might. As far as tipping....it depends on how much they do for you. I've seen people tip as low as $7.50 per day to higher than $50 per day. On our recent Spirit cruise, our butler went above and beyond so we tipped him $200 for a 5 night cruise.

I don't recall the AD's having a whirlpool tub but it's been almost 2 years since I toured one. They do have great bathrooms.

Can't answer the other questions....sorry....maybe someone else can help

My wife and I just stayed in cabin 10728 on the 11 night cruise from Nov 28 to Dec 9. IT WAS GREAT. 10728 does not have a wrap around balcony, 10726 and 10226 do but it is not opened. When you walk out on the balcony a BA cabin is to your left and an AD cabin is to your right. The View is terrific almost 180 degrees and I got some great pics. WARNING-sometimes the movement is more pronounced at the stern and your first instinct is to grab the railing. I almost lost my camera the first time so be prepared and do not hold a child anywhere near the railing.

The cabin is bigger than an AF with a nice bathroom (no whirlpool tub) with nice shower. The butler service was great. We had a hot breakfast delivered every morning between 6:30 and 8:30 every morning (depending on what we were doing that day) we also had afternoon tea (or coffee) with cookies delivered at 3pm every day except the days we were on an excursion. We also had dinner delivered to our room 3 times. It was the full menu from the restaurants. You can ask for almost anything from the butler within reason. We tipped him $10.00 per person per day. It depends on how much you use them.

YOU WILL HAVE A GREAT TIME.

PS- You can stay in your cabin and have breakfast before you disembark and because you are in a penthouse you will meet at a specified location on the ship and escorted off the ship first!
