Ice Skating Kid's Question

Recommended Posts

I'm leaving in two days so I'm down to the nitty gritty. I've been told to bring a pair of pants for my son to ice skate in. Is it really cold in there? Should I bring sweat pants or jeans? Sorry, I'm a Floridian, never seen snow, never been on the ice icon_cool.gif

Also, I know the cabin stewards bring ice, but is there a public ice machine on each floor?

Thanks for the help.

Pants are required when ice skating on the ship... so, sweat pants are fine.

Also, I don't know of any public ice machine... the steward brings it to you.

Long pants, either jeans or sweats, are fine. Take whatever is more comfortable for them to move around in. Consider also if they fall - jeans tend to be more protective of the knees. My kids usually wear a lightweight long sleeved shirt too - for the same reason. If they fall it is less likely to get scraped and it is not as cold.

Socks are also required for ice skating and for rock climbing. You have to sign the children in each day for either activity. Not sure, but for under 12 I think an adult has to be there with them as well. My children are old enough now that we sign them in each morning and they can then come and go as they want to for ice skating, rock climbing, and roller blading throughout the day.

Thanks as always for the great information. I don't know what I'd do without these boards icon_biggrin.gif

My five year old had to put her hands down on the ice to get up a few too many times so her hands got pretty cold. I ended up putting an extra pair of socks on her hands.

Just a suggestion, but you may want to put a little pair of $.99 gloves in your suitcase....I know it would have been a good idea for us.
