Freedom cabin 6355 question.

Has anyone had balcony cabin 6355 on the upper deck or any around there? It's right above the casino and I'm just wondering if it's noisy at night.

I would move.

There is a band that sets up across from the casinoi bar that does not start playing until 9pm. This is an area that I am always telling people to avoid.

You are one cabin over from where the band sets up.

Picka cabin on the even side of the ship- avoid being over a lounge stage area.

being over the casino is a good choice

Hey Serene, or anyone else that knows. I've been worried about the same thing on deck 6. Should I pay the extra and move up to deck 7, or just be careful on where I pick on 6?

We were looking at a group of rooms, 6411 through 6423. I'm trying to guess by looking at the deck plans, but not for sure

stay on the upper deck- even side mid ship- just avoid areas over the lounge stage areas. depends on the cost to upgrade to empress deck.

we booke 7411.

This past summer we went on a cruise and our cabin was right below the casino. I was concerned at first; in the end we had no issue at all. Never heard a sound. Mind you we did not have a band right outside the casino either.

What ever decision you make I'm sure you will have a fabulous time.

Thanks for the advice. I found a website that allows easy overlays of floors and I'm thinking about upper deck, over the casino, even side. How late are the casinos open? I remember sitting there till late, but can't remember how late.

Might still move up to Empress, about $20 more per person. We are in a group of 12, so I'll check with the rest.

Thanks again.

being over the casino is ok- not the sports bar if booking during a "good" game. anywhere over the casino on the even side is a good choice.

what is that category?

It's 8B.

I was looking and it's $20 more per person to move up 1 level to Empress, then was thinking location wasn't as important with cabins above and below.

Anything else I should be considering?

I wonder what 7411 is= I thought that was an 8b too.

(I hate that carnival recvonfigured those categories)

If I looked correctly, or explaining it correctly.

Upper level, mid ship is 8B

Empress level, mid ship is 8C

Room 7411 is starboard side and 8B since it's towards the aft.

There are several in our group that have never been on a cruise before, so I'm preferring to keep them midship for less motion. Not that I'm sure if there's a big difference. We've been on mid and mid/towards aft and can't say I could tell any difference.

if you stay at the aft elevator without going back to far your family should be fine.

IF you do hit rough waters you will feel that motion no matter where you are. Booking close to the aft elevator puts you close to everything without that much traveling- the only travel you will need to do is go to the shows at night time.

We are aft snobs- have the cabins across the back all the time but since Carnival revamped the categories-- I no longer can afford the aft balcony.

We were in 6341 on the Jan 2nd sailing of the freedom, and my ONLY complaint about the entire cruise was the very very loud noises from the casino. We could hear it all night long. Like the people in the casino were in the room with us. I would definitely move if I were you. Sorry to bring you bad news:( Hope this helps, and enjoy your cruise. It was my favorite cruise so far! :D

Thanks for the perspective, I soooo appreciate it. We were thinking about the even side over the casino, so good to know. We are thinking about the 6419 area, which is above the Centuries Promenade, which is across from the Meji Sushi bar. If you can remember that area and if there are any band stages or anything that might be noisy all night long.

My wife's just saying spend the extra $40 per person and move up one floor, then we're sure. :D

Any other advice just coming off the ship in January? We are planning on do the same one next year, departs January 1st.

How big of an area is to be avoided? I am in room 6331 on Liberty, and it looks like I'm over the edge of the shops.... is this room one to try to be moved from also? Thanks.

Thanks for being honest. Like I said, most nights we'll probably be down at the bars but I'm getting too old to party every night. I tried to change rooms since I booked online and it won't let me. I guess I'll call and see what they can do.

I honestly think it's worth it to pay 40$ to move up a floor. January cruises are great, IMO. It's not scorching hot so that helps make it a little more enjoyable. However, this year the day we returned to port everglades, it was 30 degrees:eek:. I felt bad for the folks getting on the ship the day we debarked. Other than that the Eastern itinerary is amazing. The only island we didn't care for too much was Antigua, it was very dirty and the locals were very pushy. I'm glad we did a ship sponsored tour that day, because we wouldn't have bothered getting back off the ship if we hadn't. You'll love the Freedom, shes a beautiful ship. I hope you have as much fun as we did. If you have any further questions feel free to ask:)

i know that rooms around 6406 will hear lots of noise as they are over the promenade and night club. the walls and floors vibrate until the club closes. i was in this room in sept. of 09 and it was like that every night.

Yep- that cabin sits directly over the staging area of the lounge.

This area sometimes can go all night--into the wee hours of the morning--depending on the crowd. Moving three cabins forward would have made a big difference

This is all good to know and keep in mind since I'm booked in cabin 6347 on the Freedom which I noticed was above the promenade right outside the casino. I'll likely be out late so it may not be an issue for me but my best friend/roommate can be unpredictable so she may be bothered by it.
