I need Your Help with Cayman

Recommended Posts

This will be our 3rd time, and Stingray City is out for us having already done it twice.

I am interested in the Aqua Boat snorkel excursion but two things are holding me back. One is that I have read that bruising of the buttocks can occur....

Now we did the America's Cup in March in St. Maarten and I was the rear winch wench and the only way I could get stability, like everyone else, was to lean on something. In this case it was a cleat against my left buttock and thigh. By the time we got to St Thomas/St John my body was so hurt/bruised/pained I was crippled as a result.

So I don't need a bodily harm adventure.

The second issue with Aquaboat is the price. While I am no cheapskate, aka, I am not Cheap, (OMG don't delete this thread or flame me) I don't need to pay so much $$$ to get banged up while trying to enjoy the rest of the cruise.

So, in summary...Does anyone have a good report for a ship excusion snorkel site? How about Cheeseburger Reef, or the Catamaran, what ever that is about? Or a private excursion that will get me to see some nifty fish?

I have my own gear...I just want to see some fish.

We did a combination semi-submersible (I forget the exact tour name) and snorkel to Cheeseburger Reef that we thought was quite nice, especially since my wife is not much of a swimmer. She was able to stay aboard and watch, both above water and beneath, the kids and I snorkel. They also did a tour prior to the snorkeling where everyone was below decks watching.
