Jenbirds Posted January 18, 2010 #1 Share Posted January 18, 2010 I'm looking for a snorkeling location in Aruba that provides great views of fish...but in shallow water. I'm fearful of deep water, but my husband is a swimmer and not afraid of the water. Any recommendations of beaches that offer this opportunity within taxi distance of the cruise ships' port? Arubalisa Posted January 20, 2010 #2 Share Posted January 20, 2010 How shallow is shallow? You can stand or at least touch near Boca Catalina and Catalina Cove. Where's the best snorkeling beach in Aruba? The only other place would be Baby Beach, but it is a VERY expensive taxi ride and the bus does not go there. Shallow as in "can touch bottom," as I'm not a great swimmer and not fond of deep water. I cannot located Boca Catalina or Catalina Cove on my Frommer's map. Are they private islands? Arubalisa: you are highly recommended in these threads. Would you recommend Palm Beach for us 1st-time visitors of Aruba? We're cruising there in April and have 12 hours there...ahhh, we can't wait!
