Which way around Cuba does the Crown go?

I'm wondering if the Crown Princess goes all the way around Cuba during its Western Caribbean swing. The itenerary map on Princess.com indicates that, while the ship is en route from Ft Lauderdale to Grand Cayman, it passes the eastern tip of Cuba. But the maps on Orbitz and Expedia show that the ship goes around the western side of Cuba.

Does anybody know for sure which route the ship sails?

When the Western itinerary INCLUDES Ocho Rios as the first stop, the ship travels in an south-easterly direction, then turn east paralell along the coast of cuba down the OLD BAHAMAS CHANNEL and around the eastern tip of Cuba into the Caribbean sea. Very few itinerary's for Princess include Ocho Rios now. For the most part it has been replaced with Roatan.

If PRINCESS CAYS is the first stop, the ship will travel due east through the BIMINI channel and around the north tip of Eleuthera into the atlantic ocean, then come around the southern tip of eleuthera to Princess Cays. It will then travel in the atlantic ocean due South through the bahamas and around the eastern tip of CUBA into the caribbean sea..

When the Western itinerary DOES NOT include Ocho Rios, and Grand Cayman is the first stop, the ship travels in a west-southwest direction through the STRAITS OF FLORIDA and through the YUCATAN channel around the western tip of cuba and into the caribbean sea.

Wow...thank you for the very detailed and interesting information. We'll be on the Western Caribbean cruise on the Crown in about 5 1//2 weeks. It truly is amazing how knowledgeable CCers are. Thanks again.
