Private taxis

From what I have read I am getting the idea that what are referred to as taxis in the Cayman Islands are actually shared ride vans for up to 12 or so people.

 

Are there actually private car taxis that will take just the 4 of us to the Dolphin encounter near the Turtle farm? We booked the dolphin encounter on our own, so we need transportation.

There are actually a few different license categories that taxi operators might have. If I recall correctly, the taxis that are allowed to pick up at the tender docks have a different license than general taxis.

 

Some of those other general taxis have been seen dropping off passengers just a block away from the docks. Perhaps one of those would hire out just for your group of four?
