Port side or Starboard?

Havent booked yet but we are planning on an Inside Passage, June 2006 sailing. I'm doing a lot of "homework" as this will be my first Alaskan cruise. One thing I havent seen (perhaps I missed) is posts regarding Port side vs Starboard.....opinions please.

Round trip inside passage cruises are less critical for sides as you will have viewing on both sides during the trip. More important is the route- consider round trip Vancouver for the most inside sailing.

If you were going 1-way, the story would be different and the preference would be Starboard for northbound and port for southbound.
