early disembarktion in barbados

I wanted to followup on this concern about 6:30 a.m. flights and whether you will be able to disembark on time to make this flight.

The answer is YES. We just got back 3/14/2010. The boat docked at 4:30 a.m. Barbados customs/immigration came on board by 4:45 a.m with a great big smile (all 6 of them), and as pleasant and professional as could be! We were transported to the airport via the boats arrangements for a cab arriving at 5:30 am in plenty of time to make our 630 a.m. flight. The process was smooth, very smooth. The captain of the boat even walked us down the gang plank and the cruise director supervised the transfer right down to counting the bags in the back of the cab to make sure we had them all.

Having done that cruise three times, I think you were very lucky that everything went perfectly! I would not count on that scenario every time ... It isn't always that smooth.

I agree with Patty. Remember, you will be on a ship, and things sometimes go wrong. I think it's totally fine to book that early flight, but you should be prepared in case you miss it... make sure you have a back up plan!

Cheers,

Lani
