Royal British Columbia Museum Victoria

Recommended Posts

You should be able to see quite a bit in two hours but it is a lage museum and usually needs a half day. It is well laid out, though and you move from area to area quite easily. It is also close to the cruise terminal so it won't take long to get there after your tour. You have probably seen this already.

Enjoy - it is a great place to visit.

Two hours is better than nothing if that's all you have. In that time, my priorities would be the First Nations gallery and the galleries that describe life in British Columbia around the dawn of the 20th century. But, as Putterdude says, you should be able to see more. If the Golden Princess tour passes through downtown on its way back to the ship, you could try asking the driver to let you off as he passes Belleville Street, which would gain you maybe half an hour.

You'll probably want to take a cab back to your ship to save time after visiting the Museum, though you could walk (half an hour). If you don't see one outside the museum and across the street, there's a cab rank at the Empress Hotel, which is just across Belleville Street from the Museum.

I think the RBCM is the one place to visit in Victoria if you have time to do just one thing and the place is open, but I like museums ;) That said, you should find the bus tour interesting too.
