Copenhagen private guide for 1/2 day

Recommended Posts

My husband and I will arrive in Copenhagen on Sept. 9th in the morning and need to board our cruise ship around 2 -3 p.m. that same day. Anyone know of a private tour person who may pick us and our luggage up at the airport, take us for a 3 - 4 hour of Copenhagen before we have to head to the ship to check in? Ship doesn't leave til 7 p.m. but don't think if we check in early that we can get off the ship and try to find something once we've embarked. Any info helpful. Thanks! Lynn

The guides in Copenhagen are all unionized, government regulated and fairly costly. For a private guide, you will be into a cost structure of about a $100 a hour, plus, plus. And then you would need a driver, in addition to the cost of the vehicle. How flexible is your budget??? You have a good idea, but are you prepared to spend some serious money? Another option might be to study/read ahead, have a list of what you want to drive and see, then catch a cab and give the driver a list of what you want to do during such a "drive-around". Most of the younger people in Copenhagen speak English and love to be helpful. If you have the right cab driver, that could be a more affordable option. With just the two of you and your luggage, this option might be worth doing if you don't have a big budget. BUT, it would involve doing some advance homework. Copenhagen is a super great city that we loved so much. On our cruise ship, we were able to board and then depart the ship to return before the actual departure. Which cruise line will you be sailing. Below are a few visual samples for what you can see and do in wonderful Copenhagen. Great architecture, public art, charm are all around Copenhagen. You don't want to miss it.

THANKS! Enjoy! Terry in Ohio
