adelchamps Posted March 25, 2010 #1 Share Posted March 25, 2010 Hi, I cruise next week and looking at accuweather and weather.com it is looking like costa maya may be a rainy day. Kills my beach day but other two ports look awesome so i am not going to complain.......my question is what are some suggested activities if it rains? Any that wold possibly work for a rainy day will be great? Only one I thought of and it may not even be available is four wheelers (atv) or jeep rental could be interesting in the rain  Thank you April
Rare crewsweeper Posted March 25, 2010 #2 Share Posted March 25, 2010 Just be sure to pack a light rain travel poncho or coat. Unfortunately, rain always puts a damper on what to do in these ports. The pier is long but there are trams to carry you down. There are all sorts of shops and a couple of bars in the port area. Also the Tequila Musuem by the taxi stand. And if finished, (which I doubt) the Hard Rock Cafe across from the Tequila Museum. These would entail a soaking to get to if its raining. As would grabbing a taxi to old Mahahual. But if it's too wet for the beach in Mahahual, and you still want to see the area, go one block and a half block north of the soccer field and find 100% Agave and enjoy a nice lunch and some Mexican beers you'll never see in the States. Be sure to ask Fernando for a sip of his tequila, no lime no salt necessary.
gaviota Posted March 25, 2010 #3 Share Posted March 25, 2010 Like most tropical areas - rain is common. However, it is usually short in duration. The weather in the area has been quite dry recently with little rain. Go enjoy - most activies will still go on. http://www.wunderground.com/weatherstation/WXDailyHistory.asp?ID=IQROOMAH2 is the local weather station on the coast.
