Ft Lauderdale Hotel Before/After

We need a Ft Lauderdale hotel the night before our cruise. We are thinking about Embassy Suites, or we are open to any suggestions. After the cruise, our flight home isn't until 5:00 PM. We would like to be able to go back to the hotel where we stayed just to check our luggage and then go do something in town until it is time to leave. Has anyone done this, or are aware of any hotels open to this? I think it would save a lot of time instead of going to the airport to check-in, and then back to the beach area, and then back to the airport.

We have stayed at the Embassy Suites about 6-8 times pre-cruise. Good hotel..good location..within walking distance to alot off resturants and shops..full cooked breakfast and an evening Managers reception.

 

We haven't checked luggage like you are asking but I have seen luggage ckecked into a room by the Bell Captains desk... a phone call to the hotel could probably answer your question.

 

Cost of a taxi from the airport to hotel is about $15 plus tip... shuttle from hotel to port is $7 pp.

 

One thing to consider after cruise..if you are flying Southwest, they will have a representative at the cruise terminal to take your luggage and issue you a boarding pass... cost is $10pp...next time you see your luggage is when you get to yoru destination airport.
