Request for Cruise Critic Volcano Info Needed

Do you think you could contact Azamara and find out what their policy will be regarding the Volcano and shut down of Northern Europe Airports? We are scheduled to leave from Copenhagen and the British Airports as well as CPH are closed.. Has Azamara formulated a policy re cruises/cancellations/itinerary changes??? This affects the Black Sea as well as other cruises ie Fjords/British Isles/Iceland etc.

Our flight from Toronto on Air Canada to Barcelona on Wed. goes through Frankfurt. We have tried to change flights to route through the US no avail. Nothing is available.

Everyone says 'Wait and see", including Azamara.

Now we see even Spain is impacted.

Azamara has no answers for customers who have booked their own air, either on phone or website. We wanted to get there ahead of time to enjoy the city and eliminate the stress of close call bookings from cruise lines.

We need answers so we can cancel or change hotel bookings, etc.

We wanted to SEE Pompeii, not BE Pompeii!!!

Is Azamara likely to refund or credit clients who cannot get across the pond? Their brochure says tough luck.

This would be a good time for good PR to step in.

Simply put, neither cruise lines nor airlines can afford to refund all fares for cancelled flights or cruises in the current economy. As has been reported widely, they lack insurance for an event of this kind.

In the UK if you have booked a package inc air with the cruiseline you should get your money/another cruise refund ,if you have booked a cruise and air seperate then basically you claim the air from airline and cruise from insurance in other words tuff :(:(
