Mt etna jeep and cable car

Has anyone ever done the jeep tour at mt etna, with or without the cable car?

We are looking into a private guide,but dont want alot of hiking! Do you take the cable car to the jeeps? How long is the cable car ride? is it over a large opening?(height fears among us) Is it possible to see things without the cable car? perhaps just doing jeep tour?

We took a tour to Mt. Etna via a tour bus. The bus stopped near the top at a souvenir shop. The wind was howling. A number of passengers would (could) not leave the bus. We got out and the wind and dust was terrible. We ran to the gift shop for some shelter. I am sure it's not always like this, but be aware of possible adverse weather conditions.
