Queen Mary 2. 12 October 2010. Change to departure time.

After a further review of recent calls to New York, it has become necessary to change the original departure time of 6.00pm for all future calls to the city.

Queen Mary 2 will now depart at the earlier time of 5.00pm.

Do you think perhaps the October 12, 2010 departure time is a one-off since the Queen Elizabeth will be leaving Southampton on her Maiden Voyage on the 12th ? That is sure to generate a great deal of activity in the water around Southampton

If you look at the Southampton Port site you will see that from here on the QM2 is scheduled to depart at 16.30. So do not have that extra pint if you are on a back to back lol.

I don't know how "new" this is...I'm on the 12-Oct eastbound TA and when I booked back in January they already had us down for a 5:00pm departure.

Thanks for mentioning that site! I just looked it up and indeed they have the QM2 departing at 16:30 for our sailing as well, not 17:00 as my original confirmation read. Not that we're planning on waiting so long to get on the ship, but still useful info to have in case something goes horribly wrong.
