wildcatt99 Posted May 31, 2010 #1 Share Posted May 31, 2010 We have just booked the Eastern Caribbean for March of 2011 (San Juan, St. Thomas, Grand Turks and Caicos). We were wondering if someone could tell us how the weather and the water is at this time of year. This is our first time doing the Eastern. Thanks. gazingm42 Posted May 31, 2010 #2 Share Posted May 31, 2010 Were were on this same trip this March on the Glory. The weather was very nice. We had some limited rain showers in grand turk. But the rest of the trip it was in the mid to high 80's during the day. The water can be a little on the cooler side. on some of the more northern ports. Sunshine-lady Posted June 1, 2010 #3 Share Posted June 1, 2010 Was the water very choppy, especially if you have to tender in?

Stevesan Posted June 1, 2010 #5 Share Posted June 1, 2010 Was the water very choppy, especially if you have to tender in? It's the Atlantic Ocean. Any ocean, during any time of the year, can be choppy. BTW - None of your ports require a tender. :)
Rare Tapi Posted June 1, 2010 #6 Share Posted June 1, 2010 I grew up in Puerto Rico. March is a GREAT time of year! Probably one of the best times of the year. Temperature will be in the 80's, not as much rain as duing the summer and fall. (keep in mind that when you sail in the Caribbean, you DO have a chance of showers almost on a daily basis, but they are usually brief).

We have always been blessed w/ wonderful weather. We like March because it gets us away from Pittsburgh winters!!!
Sunshine-lady Posted June 1, 2010 #8 Share Posted June 1, 2010 Thank you very much for all your replies. That makes us feel a lot better. So, Half Moon Cay is a "docked" port? If so, that is wonderful. We are always worried about the tender rocking and getting sick.

The ones you listed, (San Juan, St. Thomas, Grand Turks and Caicos), are docked ports.
