bananasforcruises Posted July 9, 2010 #1 Share Posted July 9, 2010 My 10-year old nephew will enjoy the game room. Do you have to buy tokens to play the games? If you have to buy tokens from a machine can you pay cash or do they charge it to your onboard account? The game room doesn't look that big. How much are the games? This is my first time on NCL. My last cruise was on the Princess Cruise Line and they had a machine that you bought tokens from and you bought the tokens with cash or a credit card. They didn't charge it to your onboard account. Thanks for any info.
2Cruise4Ever Posted July 9, 2010 #2 Share Posted July 9, 2010 Recently off the Dawn and I'm guessing it might be the same fleet-wide: my son's key-card had to be used for the video games. We put cash on his account. And, the games weren't cheap either: $1 to $3.50 per game.
Micchi Posted July 9, 2010 #3 Share Posted July 9, 2010 You can put a certain amount of cash on his card, and once he spends it, that's it. Your credit card doesn't have to be at the mercy of an excited kid in an arcade ;)
Elationismyship Posted July 10, 2010 #4 Share Posted July 10, 2010 Just off Jewel, in arcade can not use cash.

Your credit card doesn't have to be at the mercy of an excited kid in an arcade ;) We did this, too. And, we were told that his card would automatically shut off once his account reached $0.00. Not quite true. His account actually went below that. It isn't computerized on the Dawn. It's checked manually a few times a day. So, we were liable for the overage (though it wasn't much). So, just keep on top of it. It doesn't take long to run through $20.
