Carnival Legend - obstructed balcony

Hello!

Has anybody stayed in an obstructed balcony room on the Legend? Looking at booking in December, and wondering just how "obstructed" the view is, and if it is worth paying the extra money for the balcony...

Thanks!

In 2007 we were on the Legend and stayed in room 5227 which is an obstructed view balcony. We were above the life boats and only 1 rope that crossed the top of the balcony. so there really was no obstruction at all. I guess it depends on which room you have as to what the obstruction is. I understand that some of the life boats are taller and there is more of an obstruction in those rooms. If you book through Carnival, they should be able to tell you how much of an obstruction there is.

Mexidog, Here is a list of the 7A's on the Spirit class ships.

Tall tender boats that come up to the balcony railing- cabin#'s: 5142 - 5167-- these are considered to be a MORE obstructed view.

Short lifeboats that only come even w/balcony floor- cabin#'s: 5168 - 5191 and 5224 - 5245--- these are considered to be the LESS obstructed views.

Good luck to you--- :)
