New Orleans Tour Guides

I have a group of 15 coming to visit New Orleans. When we have gone to other ports, we were able to set up private tours for our group. Many of the companies that I have used have been recommended here on CC.

Can you help me with recommendations? Thanks!

Go to http://www.neworleanscvb.com site and select cruise info (located on the left side of the screen) there you will find group assistance and other information that may help you. They have walking tour maps, a list of nearly free or free things to do, etc.

As someone who has taken virtually every tour offered in New Orleans, I would highly recommend the NO Culinary History tours. Not only do you get to sample the great food, but they also cover the history of some of the cities oldest restaurants. We got a complete tour of Antoines including all the rooms you don't usually get to see. Their website is noculinarytours.com. I am sure they could set up a private tour.

I would also recommend MachuPicchu tours. He does a great job and also offers onsite parking during your cruise week.

really looking forward to a couple of days in NOLA during Mardi Gras. Would love to do a voodoo /marie LeVeau tour..any good ones that anyone has been on.

Tours by Isabel is a good option. We went on a plantation tour with them where you had lunch served in the dining room of one of the plantations.

Not sure if they still offer that, but it was great. Oak Alley and Nottoway are probably the best plantations to visit.

Tours by Isabelle is good, but also THE most expensive tour company in New Orleans, bar none. Most folks don't realize that TBI doesn't actually do any of the tours at the plantations or swamp tours - their van just drives you there. A good company, but you can do most every tour in NOLA for half the price or less if you check around. Something to keep in mind.

Any thoughts on what tours (meaning what you'd suggest a vistor should see) & any you know of that are lower cost?
