Can you book MDR i.e. Magenta in advance or just the specialty restaurants? We are a rather big party (8) and heard there were waits after 7.

Yes both Magenta and Grand Pacific can be booked in advance for the whole cruise. Only restrictions relate to Teppanyaki which has a 24 hour maximum booking window.

NCL does allow large groups to make reservations in the main dining rooms, but the times available are restricted to before 6:15 or after 8:00 p.m.. Not usually during the prime dining times of 6:15-8:00 p.m..

 

We did it twice on the POAm.
