Tree Hugger Posted August 5, 2010 #1 Share Posted August 5, 2010 Thought this was funny: 6A and 6B categories sold out on the 09/12/2010 Conquest earlier this week so they jacked the price of a 6C up to $739, yet you can get into an 8D (past guest discount) for $729. Will this hamper the sales of the remaining 6Cs or boost balcony sales?
flynnsport Posted August 5, 2010 #2 Share Posted August 5, 2010 i would certainly take a balcony vs OV for those prices given the choice
Tree Hugger Posted August 5, 2010 Author #3 Share Posted August 5, 2010 I'm booked in a 6C for $529, it would be cool to wiggle an upgrade out of that, but I really don't see that happening, the math doesn't work right.

One tactic to boost sales of balconies is to increase the price of the IS and OV cabins so that customers upgrade to the higher quality cabins. When the higher value cabins sell out then the cruiseline will often drop the price of the OV.
