TNM Posted September 1, 2010 #1 Share Posted September 1, 2010 Money Bar at Playa Dzul and Playa Uvas Beach Club, which would you choose? They seem to be close to each other, both offer great snorkeling and food and drink...We don't want an all inclusive, just want to have a few beers, share some nachos and relax on beach loungers, then some snorkeling too..I was going to book Uvas but then I found Money Bar on the web and that look good. Has anyone been to both? Is one nicer than the other and why? thanks.

S.P.Q.R./Morunt Posted September 1, 2010 #3 Share Posted September 1, 2010 We usually go to Money early just to snorkle for a couple hours then cab to another beach to chill and drink. We have been to Uvas- understand there is now a 7 dollar cover chg but covers a drink or two i think. we most enjoyed mr sanchos last year. next week we will try something different and go north to club cozume caribe but i have also heard playa corona is good snorkling and laid back beach
Sargent_Schultz Posted September 1, 2010 #4 Share Posted September 1, 2010 You can walk from one to the other and for that matter, Chankanaab and snorkel at all of them. There is also Piratas and Fiesta Americana in between.
TNM Posted September 2, 2010 Author #5 Share Posted September 2, 2010 Great thanks...so the sand isnt really nice and soft on these snorkeling beaches right? For that i would have to go further south?
Sargent_Schultz Posted September 2, 2010 #6 Share Posted September 2, 2010 I think the sand at Chankanaab is fine, but it is a man-made beach. Uvas was also ok but there's iron shore in the area. If you move further south, the sand gets better, but the snorkeling worse - unless you go way south to Punta Sur - at least in my experience.
