Maps etc of ports

Does Celebrity give out maps and info etc. of the various ports of call for those who are "doing their own thing"

On our Med cruise last year they had maps with basic information at the front desk on the day we arrived in the port. It wasn't very detailed, but helped somewhat. We found that they stressed shuttles (paid) which were not always necessary if you had done some homework first, because often there were public buses and in other places if you were reasonably fit you could walk .

Check out the CC boards for various destinations... you'll find loads of helpful info there. You might get a map from Celebrity, but it will probably emphasize their shopping partners etc. It may be a good idea to print your own map ahead of time and do a bit of research. It's also really fun to look at ports on google earth - some ports might even be available on google streetview!
