On board credit, beverage package and sparkling wine

Can my on board credit be applied to the alcohol beverage package I plan to buy?

 

Also:What's the best way to get a bottle of sparkling wine traded for a bottle of red wine? Some say they've been allowed while others say they have not. Thanks

So long as you purchase the beverage package on the ship, you should be able to use OBC.

 

With the sparkling wine exchange, there is no easy answer. There appears to be two variables:

 

1) Who you ask

2) Whether or not the sparkling wine is on the wine list in the restaurants

 

It seems like some staff have been more accommodating about requests to swap out the sparkling wine than others - so in that respect it is luck of the draw.

 

If the sparkling wine they give you in your stateroom happens to be on the wine list at the main dining room (sometimes it is, sometimes it is not) it seems people often have luck getting a "credit" - i.e. if the sparkling wine is selling for $30 per bottle, you'd receive $30 towards the purchase of a different bottle of wine of your choosing.
