chipster Posted February 17, 2005 #1 Share Posted February 17, 2005 We are booked on the Jewel in January of 06 - I am in charge of scouring the internet for airfares for our small group. We are flying from Seattle to Fort Lauderdale but would consider Miami or West Palm Beach airports if the price was right. I know about all the websites but am wondering if anyone knows what the optimum time for the best airfares for that time period might be. Nothing (except Northwest) is available for our dates at the moment, but I want to be on top of it. Recommendations? Thanks!
kiefaber455 Posted February 20, 2005 #2 Share Posted February 20, 2005 I do know that JetBlue goes from Seattle to West Palm and Fort Lauderdale. Unfortunately they're booking flights only thru October.
DanJ Posted February 21, 2005 #3 Share Posted February 21, 2005 Unfortunately, JB only goes from SEA to JFK, so that's a long flight to go to New York then to Florida. Southwest has one that stops along the way, but only takes just shy of 7 hours, and it's same plane service. Their bookings won't open until later in the summer though. They will probably give you the best price if you book when the schedule opens. I doubt any of the majors will even have same plane service, and you'll end up changing planes in Atlanta, Dallas or Chicago.
Queenk2 Posted February 21, 2005 #4 Share Posted February 21, 2005 What about Song or Frontier?
chipster Posted February 21, 2005 Author #5 Share Posted February 21, 2005 Nothing on Song from Seattle, and Frontier goes to Denver, then the schedule would require an overnight. We don't have too many low-cost alternatives from here. Southwest is an option and America West too, but of course their schedules won't be available for months. The folks I am watching these fares for would like to get the seats booked so they don't have to think about it, but I am thinking they might just have to wait awhile. (Continental has a $163 RT on Travelocity but only goes through August 3)
Boxerbabies3 Posted February 21, 2005 #6 Share Posted February 21, 2005 Try watching Soutwest... they have some good sales but, are not booking that far out yet. You have to go to the website and book directly through them. Sue
