Ushuaia ship??

Greetings! This is my first post, so I apologize if I don't use the correct "lingo." I'm traveling in S. America and would like to try to take a last-minute "expedition" type cruise to Antarctica. I am looking to go in November (really as soon as possible). The best deal I've found so far was a 10 day trip on the Ushuaia ship ($3400 for a bunk in a shared room). Has anyone been on this ship?? I see that they ran aground in December 2008. So this is a little concerning to me. I'm looking to keep it under $5k if possible. But I figure this is a once in a lifetime opportunity, so I know I may have to spend more. Its a bit overwhelming to sift through all of the info on Antarctic cruises. I've also heard I could show up in Ushuaia and get a last minute spot for cheaper...but I'd like to book in advance & be assured of a spot before I trek all the way down south. Any advice on the Ushuaia ship or other suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!
