Where to buy good jewelry for my 50th birthday

Get something from your reputable jeweler at home, at least you know you won't end up with a stone that was valued at some price and when appraised at home it wasn't worth zip.

I will never buy jewelery from a cruise port again. Got burned and too much aggrevation from the NY jewelery rep for that store, it was not worth the hassle. Know what you're buying and use your own, trusted jeweler!

Hopefully you will be going somewhere other than the Bahamas because they are not the place to buy quality jewelry for good prices. St. Thomas and St. Maarten have much better selection and price.

In the past, I have found some gold at average prices in Nassau, but I certainly wouldn't make any purchase over $1000 at that port.
