NOLA Airport to Downtown with Kids

I need a suggestion on how to get from the NOLA airport to our pre-cruise hotel (Hampton Inn at the convention center) with 3 kids (1.5yrs, 4, and 7) on a Saturday afternoon. All 3 normally ride in a car seat or booster, but we are not bringing any due to the hassle of carrying them and no storage space in the cabin. Cabs are pretty unsafe without car seats (is it even legal?), and we would not know how many people they would charge for our family of 5 since I assume some could be "free" but there is no listed age for that.

I looked at the Airport Shuttle and we would only have to pay for 3 of us (they charge for ages 6 and up), so it might be worth just doing that. They mention on the website that you need to bring your own car seats or boosters. I assume they are not required, though and that the vehicle is more like a van or bus. I do not really like the idea of having to make multiple stops, though.

We are thinking of just taking the NOLA tour post cruise (NCL Spirit) that drops us off at the airport to avoid this issue on the return.

I hope this all makes sense. If anyone has any suggestions, I would appreciate it!

We have two children age 5 and 3. On past cruises we have rented a car for the week via priceline for a decent price and just parked at the port. Parking at that hapton is only $10 per day. If you can get a car on priceline for $50 for the week you may be better offi. The rental car agency will have car seats for you. Just call them after you make your reservation.
