Why do some Carnival ships have Carnival in front of them and other dont?

 

Example:

 

Carnival Valor

Imagination

 

Is it that the newer ones get the Carnival?

All the ships after the Fantasy-class ships have it. Why? Well, you'll have to find someone else to answer that! :)

No different than Royal Carribean's all being called ______ of the Seas?

Just a guess, but if you look at the names, some of them are repeats of names from other lines as well, such as the Spirit and Pride, Seabourn and Carnival both have ships named Pride and Spirit. RCI has a Legend of the Seas and Carnival has Carnival Legend, just as a few examples.

 

I could be 100% wrong with this theory...just my rambling thoughts.

I think it is something do to with a new marketing approach. The older ships don't have it, but the newer ones do.
