Currency in Cartagena, Columbia

we're going to be at Cartagena for a day in February.... anyone know about the currency? Can we use US dollars, or should we exchange some money before we travel?

If you need to change I would suggest you do it at an ATM in Cartagena, there are plenty of them.

If you are in an organized tour or even if you pick a taxi/tour guide outside of the pier (there are plenty of them waiting, all controlled and courteous) you can get away using US dollars.
