July 4th sailing

We have done 2 4th of July cruises...No fireworks from the ship. Not sure if you will see any on land though. Since it's summer, it gets dark later so highly unlikely. But the wait staff in the MDR will sing God Bless America. :D

We've done three cruises over July 4 and have a fourth booked this year. The ship doesn't do very much - the first time we had a special show by the lead singers before the main show in the theater lounge, the second time we had July 4-themed photos and "Yankee Doodle" sung by the waiters in the dining room, and the third time they had a giant American flag in the atrium. On that cruise, I'm not sure if they did something at the Welcome Aboard Show, though....

That third cruise was Carnival Pride, sailing on July 4 last year out of Baltimore and down the Chesapeake. We had great fireworks all along the shore on the Virginia side, at least two hours' worth. That's why we never made it to Welcome Aboard. I'm thinking you'd have a good chance of seeing fireworks somewhere as you sail down the Mississippi.
