imanewcruiser Posted January 5, 2011 #1 Share Posted January 5, 2011 I'll be in Roatan in a couple of weeks for the first time. I've heard about the lovely reef that surrounds the island. I'm wondering if there are any beaches that have areas that have really good snorkling. Or is it better to book with an excursion and go somewhere by boat? Will in sunny FL Posted January 6, 2011 #2 Share Posted January 6, 2011 IMHO, the snorkeling from the beach at Tayabana is as good as almost anywhere in the Caribbean. We do the ships tour, which we avoid as a rule, & get on the first bus to beat the crowd there to have an hour +, before the crowds arrive. The cost PP with Carnival is about $38 which gets you there & back, a lounge chair & all the water & lemonade you can drink. Enjoy Roatan. Colorado Kat Posted January 6, 2011 #3 Share Posted January 6, 2011 The snorkling along the West Bay Beaches (Tabyana included) is excellant.
