puerto rico beach question

Hi, just heard that Caribbean Princess June 4,2011 out of NYC will dock in San Juan at the pier across the harbor from OSJ from 1 pm to 11pm. Do we need to take a taxi to OSJ ? Can anyone recommend a beach ? How is Condado? Are beaches public ? Is it possible to go to a resort and get a day pass? Saw on Princess website there are no beach excursions in OSJ. Why not? First time cruisers, very excited . Trying to learn before we go to minimize mistakes !

Yes, you will need to take a taxi to OSJ or to a beach. There is not much close to that pier.

 

 

The thing about beaches in SJ is that they are "city beaches"...not the beautiful blue Caribbean waters you will see on your other port stops. Those pretty beaches are available in PR, but not close to or within easy access from SJ.

Condado beach is nice, but OSJ is one of a kind and what you should concentrate on during your first cruise stop visit to PR.
