Car Rental after cruise in Miami

Hi-

We are disembarking from a cruise in Miami and need to know whether to rent a car at the port or taxi to a hotel. It looks like the add on charges for the port are horrendous, but I don't know about from hotels. Anyone have experience with this?

Not necessarily.

 

If you rent from Thrifty (for example) and pick up at the port, drop off at the airport (MIA) and use corporate #004M001010 (Orlando Magicard rate), you can get a car for $25-$40/day + fees, of course.
