What to do in Piraeus from 8-6 in July?

We've been to Athens several times and have seen everything including Delphi, Cape Souinon, Plaka area, etc. What would you suggest to do around that area that would be easy? We would even go to a nearby island-- anybody done this?

 

Ideas welcome.

I haven't done it, but I've read on these boards that there are ferries from Piraeus to nearby islands Poros and Aegina, which can be done in a day. If you do a search on either of those two names, you should be able to find more info.

 

Alternatively, have you been to the new Acropolis Musem in Athens? It's fantastic and you could easily spend a leisurely half-day there with a nice lunch somewhere nearby. Easy to do using the metro system.

No--we haven't been to the new museum as yet. ((Read about it in Vanity Fair, though...) I think we may go to Poros, although I'll bring up the new museum to my husband. Thanks foy your reply!
