cruisers103 Posted January 28, 2011 #1 Share Posted January 28, 2011 Will they still have formal night/captain's reception? Any chance they will do different venues for different fans? Any/all guesses appreciated. :):):)Here we go!
DivingPrincessE Posted January 28, 2011 #2 Share Posted January 28, 2011 Will they still have formal night/captain's reception? Any chance they will do different venues for different fans? Any/all guesses appreciated. :):):)Here we go! This may or may not apply to the Superbowl, but we were on the Navigator during the playoffs last weekend. The "main" place to watch the game (per the cruise compass) was Studio B (ice rink). They were also playing the game in all the venue with TVs-Schooner, 19th hole (or whatever its called), Casino, etc. They were even playing it on a tiny little tv in Vintages. We were also curious if they were going to advertise different venues for different fans as the Jets fans can be um...well Jets fans :D. But that did not occur and there were no battles that I saw (in schooner). There were several other activities scheduled in Schooner while the playoffs were on (wrinkle seminar, trivia, etc). The staff member would just wait for a commercial, then turn down the TV to ask if anyone was there for the specific activity. The few that were would follow the staff member to TV-less venue. We were all talking about how it would be VERY interesting to see comparisons of the alcohol profits from a regular cruise, vs a cruise showing the superbowl or playoffs. The bars that normally seem empty during the day were PACKED and everyone had a drink (or two) in their hands. Then you have the fans of the team that won getting more drinks (celebration) and the fans of the team that lost getting more drinks (to pick up their spirits). lol
goforhome Posted January 28, 2011 #3 Share Posted January 28, 2011 We were on Oasis last year for Super Bowl and formal night was moved from Sunday to Monday. Hope this helps.
