Thank You Rewards booking and transferring to a TA

Hi everybody

 

I have a few hundred dollars of certificates from my credit card Thank You rewards and am just about ready to book a cruise.

 

I know that I will have to book through RC, but once booked, I understand that I can transfer the booking to a TA. There is an online TA that is offering some On Board Credit.

 

Who do I have do the 'transfer'? RC or the TA?

 

Are there any downsides to transferring the booking?

 

Once I get the OBC, can that be used to purchase the soda plan?
