question about announcement on carnival ship

hi, i have a question

 

as a ncl cruiser who has nothing to compare to

 

i am considering trying out carnival, i have a question about them

 

i read that on carnival cruise, there are announcement sometime to announce the activity on board etc, that i have no problem

 

its gonna sound silly but, when i go to my room and i want to take a nap or listen a movie late at night etc, do i have to expect announcement in my room?? i know that in norwegian, the anouncement is only heard outside the room unless its an emercency or important message such as drill

You won't hear them in your room unless you have your balcony door open, then you can sometimes hear. They only announce in the rooms if it is for boat drills or emergencys.

You can kinda hear it out in the hallway, so we wind up rushing to open the door and usually its nothing. Sometimes it is something we wished we had heard.

LOL, totally agree! You can't hear the actual announcements but you can hear the doooo-doooo-doo tone prior to, then it's "what?" run to the door and open it, "oh darn, just Bingo again!"

i wasn sure because the way they said annoucement left it open for interpretation
