ucfknight07 Posted February 23, 2011 #1 Share Posted February 23, 2011 I know that the new policies related to OBC/refunds (which went into effect in May) have been discussed in great detail on here, but the new policies still confuse me from time to time. When we booked our upcoming cruise on Allure of the Seas in November, the price of a D8 was less than that of a B1. Now that we're 5 weeks out, not surprisingly I suppose, the price of a B1 has dropped by over $300 per person. If we were to change our cabin from the D8 to a B1, I know RCI will not refund the price difference because we're past final payment, but I can't find whether or not they would give an OBC for the difference in pricing between the two (even if the OBC is not refundable at the end of the cruise). Our reservation is with a TA, so I asked them and was told RCI would allow us to change categories but would not give any form of OBC for the difference. My feeling are that they obviously don't want to change anything, because it could affect their commission. If anyone has any insight, it would greatly be appreciated! patseacruiser Posted February 23, 2011 #2 Share Posted February 23, 2011 Unless you made the booking prior to May 17 you will not get obc after final payment whether you move up, down or sideways. Feel free to upgrade or downgrade but no obc.
