Reservations for steakhouse or chef's table? I cruise on Pride June 2012. How soon do I need to reserve?

I knew I wanted to eat in the steakhouse on the first sea day, so I made reservations for the steakhouse about 3 days after my initial cruise booking for a Jan 2012 cruise. If you know when you want to eat there, go ahead and do it now.
