Dani83 Posted February 27, 2011 #1 Share Posted February 27, 2011 We will be stopping in Catania for a day on our Mediterranean cruise this summer. We have heard great things about Taormina, and would love to visit here. Is it easy to get to Taormina from Catania? I would be fine with taking a taxi, but would rather not book an organized tour. Any information and opinions would be great. Thanks!

We did the Hal organised tour of taormina on the ooesterdam & we don't like organised tours. This tour was very good,it's a good 30 mins from the port.I think a taxi would be quite exspensive . The tour starts with a walk down the main street & the guide will give you the tickets for the amphitheatre. You can leave the tour & do it on your own if you wish.then there is free time in the town & you meet the guide at pre-arranged time for the return to port. The bus parks in the underground carpark below the town.
