What to do with luggage in Tampa???

Our flight does not leave Tampa til 4:30 in the afternoon and we are wanting to spend some shopping before we leave. The airport will not take our luggage early in the a.m. so I was wondering if you had any suggestions. Any hotels that offer a day rate or should we rent a car and leave the luggage in the car? Thanks.

Not sure since we had early flight out & wanted to get out as soon as possible. Tampa is not my favorite departure port.

I put the question up on the Tampa board a couple of months ago. I was told there was no place to hold luggage at the airport, but there was a Marriott attached or in the airport, so you might try a day rate there. I know they said there is a mall nearby that has a free shuttle leaving from the baggage claim area.

 

We are still debating what to do ourselves! Our flight doesn't leave until 6:15. I did email Busch Gardens and they said they would hold our luggage while we were in the park there. But we haven't decided yet.

If you take a tour of the Fla. Aquarium (next door to the port). They will hold your luggage for a little while.

We were at the Miracle terminal yesterday just to see the ship and I noticed a sign on what I think is the checkin desk that said they will store luggage til 4pm there at the cruise terminal.
