One person may not be able to go…better to cancel or just no show?

We are heading out on the Magica on Saturday. One person in our group may not be able to go, but his wife is still planning to go.

He has insurance, but this isn’t a coverable reason. If he can’t go, is it better to cancel his reservation and change her to a single or just have him be a no show?

I assume the single cost is about the same as it was for a double so would the money transfer to her reservation or would she have to pay again?

If he no shows, what happens?

Thanks!

It happened to me once on Costa when my wife had a last minute conflict and couldn't go. My TA simply notified the company that I would be travelling solo and I kept the same cabin that was previously booked. Also in my case it was not covered by insurance so I only saved on her inscription fee and port taxes. Back then the single supplement was 80% so I ended up paying almost the same for a double cabin. It was a very comfortable cruise!
