Cotton,

Here is the dumb question of the day. We are from Canada and our son who is 19 and will be 20 when we are in New Orleans is of legal drinking age up here. I know most of the states the legal drinking age is 21. I have been looking at Pat O'Brians and was thinking how sad it would be for him to have to take my empty glass as a souvenier..... so what is the legal drinking age down there.

Thank you, Isabelle

The legal drinking age in Louisiana is 21. However, the law in New Orleans says that "you have to be 21 years of age to purchase alcohol. It then states that you cannot sell alcohol to persons under the age of 18" Only in New Orleans ha ha! I'm not telling you to do anything illegal, but how about you buy the drink and your son can accidentally pick up your glass. It happens all of the time.
