KANDN Posted March 9, 2005 #2 Share Posted March 9, 2005 We were on the 2/13 sailing and went up to check out where the "mysterious" cabin 501 is hidden. As someone was booked in it we weren't allowed to take a peek. In the course of the week we never found out who was up there. It's up behind the bridge..close to the internet center. I guess if you want to be away from everyone else it would be a good choice...unless you get some night owls that like to hang out on the bridge at all hours...that's all I can tell you other than it's supposed to be just like any other suite on the ship. parislady40 Posted May 1, 2005 #4 Share Posted May 1, 2005 My husband and I had Cabin 501 or what is called the owners suite last June. It is right on the bridge deck and as a result is away from it all. The suite opens to a small mirrored foyer that leads into a large cabin. There is a round dining table and chairs on the left hand side. On the same wall there is a large 42 inch plasma tv( the only one on ship). There is a two seater sofa and coffee table with flowers. There is a king bed with bedside tables in a slightly sectioned off area. There is plenty of closet space. Up a step is the bathroom. Part one is the jacuzzi bath and more storage. Again the only bathtub on the ship. Through the glass door is the shower, toilet and sink. There is lovely wood ceiling panelling in the main room. The only drawback is that there are large picture windows that are facing directly on deck, hence no looking out of portholes at night, as someone can see directly into the cabin if the lights are on. There are drapes that are drawn at night. We had a fabulous time there. If you have any further questions, I will try to answer:)
azoria Posted June 19, 2005 #5 Share Posted June 19, 2005 We just got back from the May 28 cruise from Nice to Rome and stayed in Suite 501. Paris Lady gave a PERFECT description! For it to be "the suite" to stay in, we were very disappointed. Not that big of a deal. The only cool thing we liked was that it was where the officers stay (captain, chief officer, etc are right next door) and we can go down a staircase and end up RIGHT in the dining room. The room was still small compared to other suites on ships and the furniture (we thought) was cheap looking. It was nice having that extra room compared to the other cabins, though. SpicedPlum Posted July 2, 2005 #6 Share Posted July 2, 2005 We were the mystery cabin 501 couple that were staying in the owners suite on that cruise We decided to book that suite to try it out for our anniversary. We have previously stayed in the other suites on other cruises, I wouldnt necessarily say it was smaller than the other suites, it may have just felt that way because it was 1 rather large room instead of 2 smaller spaces like that of the other suites , which are 2 regular cabins back to back. and the bathroom is so large because of the separate room with the jacuzzi tub. there is more closet space in that part of the bathroom as well with shelves, more than ample space, The only thing i missed about being in one of the other suites was having my own bathroom ! hahah! I had to share w/my husband! I think everyone should check it out once. It was nice and quiet up there . And the secret stairway down to the dining room was fun! you could easily cut thru the dining room and go back to your cabin after making a donantion in the casino!
