ampleiwb Posted March 24, 2011 #1 Share Posted March 24, 2011 I would like to hear from anyone who has done a vow renewal. Does anyone make a tradition of it? I am considering this, but in a non-traditional, informal way. Just me and my hub. I was thinking we could each just prepare a couple minutes worth of 'vows' and what we are grateful for..and when we get on the ship-grab two glasses of champagne and find a quiet, beautiful place and GO! We will not have a balcony room, and we love the ocean so ocean view is a must for the 'vows'. I would like to make this into a tradition... Anyone do this? Any comments-thanks in advance:)
Neotericisis Posted March 24, 2011 #2 Share Posted March 24, 2011 I'm a newly wed, so I won't be renewing for quite a while- HOWEVER, I think your idea is really cute. Vacation is about relaxing and putting aside all your differences/stresses for the vacation period. I think it is a great idea to set aside a time during the vacation for you and husband to reflect on the years you guys have had and all the things you have been through and how for better or worse, you are glad that you had each other there. My husband and I do this on our anniversary. We did it even before we were married, and one year this is how he proposed. We don't buy big fancy things like a room at the Ritz or anything, just some desert, champagne, and cuddling. Its rare that he is so sentimental (though he is really a sweet guy) and I really look forward to it. Have fun!;)
