Time for Beach After Uxmal?

I'm so excited about visting Progreso! We are taking the Carnival Excursion to Uxmal. The tour is from 7:00-2:00 and the ship leaves port at 4:00.

 

Is there a beach close enough to port for us to visit? Mainly, just for my 3 DS's to wade their feet in for a few minutes?

 

Also, does anyone know if there is a way to request a vegetarian lunch for the excursion?

Ask if they can drop you off in Progreso instead of driving you back along the pier to the ship. That way you will have time to visit the beach and dip your toes in the water. The beach is about 2 blocks from where the free shuttles take folks back to the ship.
