Which Cruise line for a Wedding????

Recommended Posts

I'm planning way early:D my date is in July 2013 now I want to do a cruise wedding of course cause I luv to cruise.. lol but I wondering which is the best cruise line to have the wedding on. I been on NCL, RCCL, and CCL but dear hubby.. lol luvs RCCL and would not travel on any other cruise line but I do see the difference in price to do it in my hometown btwn Royal and Carnival, NCL I would have to call for a price quote. I'm trying to be on a budget but at the same time have a nice wedding..

Now I'm wondering on what I should do?

I read reviews on weddings on Carnival and I haven't noticed on Royal on NCL.. Can anyone give me some ideas, prices, or anything..

Thanks so much..

The best weddings I've seen on here have been with Carnival. They also seem to be the most reasonable price wise. We couldn't use them since they don't do same-sex weddings and so we went with NCL. I think our decision ended up being more about convenience than money. We wanted to cruise out of our home ports and the Norwegian Jewel does and had the best dates for us.

I've tried to attached the latest NCL brochure. It has the details of their weddings including prices and I also tried to attached the one from RCCL. Not sure if it has been updated since Jan. 2010 though. However, both files were to big. You can search for them online or I'll gladly email them to you if you want... det1969@aol.com

I favor RCCL, but that is because I have only really sailed with them. If you go to their website, type search in for weddings. You will find an area for the wedding brochure if you haven't already.

In terms of price, Carnival is the way to go for weddings especially if you want guests to come along. IMO, RC does not help you to save money. They just give you another way, but everything on RC seems to be more expensive to me. There are some RC brides, but I haven't seen any lately. You will have to go back a few pages on the boards. If I find some threads, I will post them for you.

Anyway, you have to evaluate what is best for you and your FI. I would go on RC, but it is too expensive for just the two of us :( , so we are getting married in Fort Lauderdale before boarding Allure of the Seas for our Honeymoon.v :D

Hi Minnie~ Love that I am not the only early planner - i am planning July 2014. We are doing Norwegian - It is the only one that sails from Boston to Bermuda for 7 days and most of our guests are from the Boston Area.

Congrats .. I was planning early but I changed everything for May 2012 due to the fact I had a cruise already booked so to take advantage and save extra cost then to book another cruise just for the wedding I just book my wedding for the cruise that I booked already.. Now I know my whole family won't be able to attend which is fine but I have my closes family there so that's great.. and it's not all big so I can save on extra cost.. ;)

At least u can do it in ur hometome and still have time to work with everything.. I luv planning ahead.. makes it alot easier in a way.. lol :D

Congrats - we're having our wedding on RCCL Enchantment. Its working out alot cheaper than a wedding would be at home, and that includes the cruise itswelf, flights and a party back home.

I cant comment on what other cruise lines include in the wedding package but we only purchased/booked the basic one with RCCL. This includes them getting the marriage license on our behalf, all legal fees, 2 cars to go to the court house on the morning of the wedding, the ceremony itself, my bouquet and hubby to be's buttonhole, champagne and strawberry's and also our cake.

Being honest we didnt like the sound of the buffet receptions they did as they included alot of fish, which we dont like. So once everyone has booked on we'll decide whether to book a meal at Chops Grille altogether or just have dinner as normal in the dining room (we have already paid for this afterall)!!

But good luck choosing - I actually left it up to my fiance to chooce the ship and itinerary!

We were married on Carnival Freedom last December, and absolutely loved it. It was much less than a land wedding, even if we added the cost of the honeymoon. Carnival's wedding planners are awesome, and extremely easy to work with. We had a sit down reception afterwards and the meal as well as the wedding cake was incredible. The only unfortunate thing was that those not traveling with us were unable to take any left overs home with them, so a lot of filet mignon was wasted :( What we paid for the reception's food wouldn't even cover the cost of chicken if we had it on land. There was a ship photographer which documented our every move. He later took a ton of photos before muster drill. The photos were to die for!

When we got to the port we had a personal wedding planner waiting for us to breeze us through check-in, we were first on the ship, and escorted immediately to our stateroom. During the cruise there was also a designated person on board assigned to us. She would check with us during dinner every evening to see how our day was, and if she could be of assistance with anything. We were given her personal phone number to call 24/7 if we ever did need anything.

Aw, he's been great throughout allthe planning so far! Picked the ship, itinerary, colour scheme (I wanted pink and black but he chose blue which goes bettwe with the nautical theme anyway).

He's in the process of designing a wedding website too!!

That's great.. awww he should of left the color theme u wanted but hey at least he's doing everything any u can relax a bit.. lol At first I was going with a lilac color as my theme but then I was like hmm I want somethign bright not to bright so I went with a aqua color which is really pretty on my Bridesmaids and MOH.. so now I'm going to see how the color looks on my daughter's..;)

That's great ur wedding was awsome.. pretty much everyone that is coming along are traveling with me which is good so i don't have to do any meal planning etc.. I'm only going to have maybe 4 people who's not travel but will fly out to the wedding and enjoy PR for the weekend.. which is really nice .. I'm going to do a simple wedding..

Hi there!

I got married on Celebrity last November and it was amazing! We chose Celebrity because we wanted to get married on the ship on a day at sea and the only options were Celebrity or Princess. The staff on board we so great to us it turned out way better than we'd hoped!

I've actually been to several Carnival cruise weddings. I've enjoyed them all a lot, I just couldn't picture myself getting married on a Carnival cruise becuase the decor is just so horrendeous... I wouldn't want it in my wedding pictures. I know that's very snobby and such a small detail, though! But seriously... whoever designed the decor of those ships HAD to be on something!

We are opting for Royal Caribbean for our cruise wedding. It appeals to me because of price and what the ships themselves offer. I found myself getting very, very bored on Carnival ships and wanted more offerings and RCCL met those needs. We also wanted to get married on a small private island and I like RCCL's islands. I also have some family members who never ever even consider cruising with Carnival ever again, even for an important wedding. They have very legitimate reasons for this, so we decided off the bat that Carnival was out.

And on Allure no less! I'm jealous. I would LOVE to get married on Allure or Oasis but that is ridiculously out of the budget!
